Testimonials

Fixed my video driver

"I got a new graphics card but the framerate was terrible, and the manufacturer's website didn't help at all. It turns out that the driver that came with the card was 6 months out of date! Driver Robot got me the latest driver automatically, and now my whole system is more responsive, especially the games."

Printer issue resolved

"When I upgraded to Vista I didn't want to throw out my perfectly good old printer, but I wasn't having any luck finding Vista support for it. I gave Driver Robot a try and it identified my printer and installed a special Vista driver from its database - my printer works like it always has, and I saved $200, so I'm pretty happy."

Susan Peterson, MA

New life for an old PC

"I had an old Pentium III kicking around that I wanted to put XP on for the kids. Instead of finding each driver one by one I used the Driver Robot exporter and got the whole system set up in about 30 minutes. Money well spent, especially since I can do it again any time."

How To Install Bluetooth Drivers Correctly

Technology changes every year. Bluetooth is now being adapted to use with various electronic gadgets. There are now Bluetooth cell phones, computers, GPS devices, printers, and more. But do you know how it actually functions? It uses a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate with each other using radio frequencies. If you have recently bought a new gadget that uses this technology then it is important to understand how to install the Bluetooth drivers correctly.

If you plan to link a Bluetooth device to your PC or laptop then first of all you need to check that your computer has Bluetooth capability. A new model will automatically have a built in transmitter and receiver. If you happen to have a system without Bluetooth then you can buy a USB adapter that will give the functionality.

With any new Bluetooth enabled hardware that you have there should be an installation disc. This will contain the drivers that are needed for the hardware to communicate correctly. If there is no installation CD then the drivers may have already been pre-installed on your hard drive, or maybe you will need to locate them online.

If you have used Bluetooth technology previously then you may be aware that problems can happen with the devices that make them stop working. Occasionally you may install new software that in some way affects the functioning of the drivers. If this happens you will need to remove the Bluetooth and then reinstall the software.

Another problem can occur if the drivers are not updated regularly. Most software requires updating every so often to keep up with the latest security needs and products. If your system crashes then the Bluetooth drivers can also stop working. It is important to always keep you Bluetooth installation CD in a safe place, never throw it away.

If you have frequent problems with your Bluetooth drivers or devices then it may be worth contacting the manufacturer. If there is a common problem they may be able to offer you a patch or a quick solution. They may have made improvements to the original drivers to improve performance.

Bear in mind that Bluetooth drivers will differ depending on the operating system you use. You need to ensure that you have the right drivers for a Mac or Windows OS. They will not work on operating systems apart from what they have been designed for.

Most Bluetooth devices will automatically check for updates. If you think that this has not been happening then you could carry out the task manually. You need to go to the Control Panel then locate the Device Manager option and find your Bluetooth device. There should then be an option that says Update Driver.

Bluetooth technology has revolutionized the way we interact with electronic gadgets. There is no longer any need to have metres upon metres of wires and cables dangling around. As longer as your PC is kept up-to-date you should have no problems with any Bluetooth equipment.
