Fixed my video driver

"I got a new graphics card but the framerate was terrible, and the manufacturer's website didn't help at all. It turns out that the driver that came with the card was 6 months out of date! Driver Robot got me the latest driver automatically, and now my whole system is more responsive, especially the games."

Printer issue resolved

"When I upgraded to Vista I didn't want to throw out my perfectly good old printer, but I wasn't having any luck finding Vista support for it. I gave Driver Robot a try and it identified my printer and installed a special Vista driver from its database - my printer works like it always has, and I saved $200, so I'm pretty happy."

Susan Peterson, MA

New life for an old PC

"I had an old Pentium III kicking around that I wanted to put XP on for the kids. Instead of finding each driver one by one I used the Driver Robot exporter and got the whole system set up in about 30 minutes. Money well spent, especially since I can do it again any time."

- Tim Whiteman, PA

  Toshiba Laptop Drivers

Do you own a Toshiba laptop? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you reformat or wipe its hard drive? Well look no further because the answer is here! Original Toshiba laptop drivers are installed by the manufacturer at the time that it is built. Unlike desktop computers that can simply be restored by the click of a button, a laptop has to be completely reprogrammed.

Sometimes the device drivers do not perform the way they were meant to when they were first developed. As a result some drivers do not sync or run swiftly with some software. A driver is like a translator between a device and the programs that use the device. Each device has its own unique set of commands that only its driver knows and recognizes. Most programs access devices by using generic commands which the driver accepts and then translates them into commands that the device will recognize.

Just like most other software or system files that you can download, most drivers are self- installing executable files. A self executable file is a file that contains a program that is ready to be ran or carried out. In order to launch an executable file, one must simply click on the file itself. When initiated, the program or file usually checks the system to ensure that the drivers being installed are the appropriate drivers for the hardware intended for it to run.

If you ever want to check your driver version, you can find the "Device Manager" by right clicking on the "My Computer" icon.Once you right click on the icon, click on "Properties" and then click on "Hardware". From the device manager, by pointing your cursor to a hardware device you can view the driver's name and also the version number.

If your drivers are already up to date, and the most recent one available, windows will display a message on your screen indicating that an update in not necessary. To update a driver, open the driver properties tab located in the "Device Manager" and click on "Update Driver"

Whatever you do, take special precautions to avoid accidentally installing the wrong drivers. Installing the wrong drivers for your devices can cause your operating system to go crazy and flash one error message after another. In some extreme cases, installing a bad driver can prevent some of your programs from working properly and can even cause your system to crash. If your system crashes all that you can do is a complete reinstall of the Operating System and drivers.

By turning on "Automatic Updates" in your Windows based Operating System you can prevent your system from becoming a victim to many common security vulnerabilities. Also be sure to check the Toshiba website often to see if any updated drivers have been released for your model notebook.

In order to be guaranteed to not have problems with your drivers, make sure the drivers that you download also include the hardware device.Always remember to reboot your computer after installing your new drivers so that all changes made to your system can take affect.
